Overview
I worked with the team at UsTwo to develop and pitch a range of prototypes for a new IP. We explored a wide array of concepts for a new multiplatform game, including realtime music generation and knot-based puzzle mechanics.
The final concept was a combination of turn-based strategy and dodgeball.
As part of finalising the prototype, I designed and integrated a deterministic throwing algorithm to achieve a cartoon sense of gravity. The algorithm also secretly calculates the full trajectory of the ball while the player is aiming. This provides valuable tactical data to the enemy AI, and allows for more expressive camera movements during key gameplay moments.
