Overview

The European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) is the operational satellite agency for monitoring weather, climate and the environment. They approached me to create two YouTube animated science explainers for young people. I visited their headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany, to develop the project. The films aim to explain complex principles like numerical weather prediction and advanced collision detection in a way that can be understood by anyone.

The first animation, How Do We Monitor the Weather From Space, for which I also created original music, was narrated by scientist and presenter Adam Rutherford. The second, How Are Weather Forecasts Made, was narrated by presenter Konnie Huq.
